IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OFF-CAMPUS CONNECTIONS

The ada cluster requires that all logins are routed through the UEA campus network.

To achieve this from off campus, you must first connect to the UEA vpn - vpn.uea.ac.uk

Further guidance for VPN connections for your device is available from the online wiki.

How to connect to ADA

All UEA owned computers should have the appropriate software installed on them.

Windows machines

Detailed instructions for windows machines can be found here.

Linux machines

From a machine running the UEA Linux Desktop Connected to the Campus Network

There are two methods

  • Open a terminal and type

ssh –XY <username>@ada.uea.ac.uk

If prompted enter your UEA password. You should now be connected to one of the ADA login nodes (login01 or login02)

From a linux machine not running the UEA Linux Desktop

If you are offsite, make sure you have connected to the vpn first.

  • Open a terminal and type

ssh –XY <username>@ada.uea.ac.uk
